URL

URL (stands for: Uniform Resource Locator) – a specific addressing format on the Internet. The most common URL is used to specify web pages. Thanks to the URL, users go to specific pages and can see, read and download the data located at this address. Often, the URL is part of the entire site hierarchy, which takes users to their destinations. An address consists of a protocol name, a domain name and an extension. As the user navigates to specific subpages, the address zooms in – this is the URL path. When creating a URL, it is worth considering that the address should be optimized for SEO – these types of addresses are short, simple and contain keywords. So-called unfriendly addresses are less likely to be shared and clicked on by recipients, they also have a bad effect on Google’s search engine rankings, and are often treated as spam, since robots, due to their length and lack of clear structure, treat them as unsafe links. Wanting to create an optimal address, you should rely on keywords, avoid unnecessary words, characters and capital letters and dates. It’s advisable to use separators and hyphens.
