A/B testing

A/B testing – one of the easiest and most popular ways to optimize conversions on a website. It involves redirecting visitors to a particular website to a version of it with a specific single variable (e.g., some visitors to a product page will see the CTA in green, some in red) – the goal of this activity is to verify which option translates into more conversions. Typically, A/B testing uses special software that notices and monitors changes in the behavior of users visiting the site. The software distributes traffic on the site between the control version and the tested version, measuring the differences between the two. Software based on more advanced algorithms allows to refer visitors to the version that achieves better results – so the tests do not result in loss of customers. A/B tests are used by marketers as well as UX/UI designers or copywriters, helping to design better converting ads, sales pages or email content, etc. The downside is that several variables cannot be tested at one time.
