SEO (stands for: Search Engine Optimization) – so-called website positioning – is the optimization of a website for search engines. Actions entered in SEO result in improved visibility of the site in search results. These are long-term activities aimed at positioning sites – the higher the position of the site in search results, the more traffic the site receives, and thus the greater the chance of higher conversions. SEO is an elementary component of online marketing and relates to strategies developed through content marketing and social media marketing. SEO activities consist of site optimization (in terms of site design and available content) and link building (linking, which is the process of acquiring links from various sites for the site being positioned). The most important goals of SEO include gaining the highest possible positions for specific keywords, generating unique user entries and increasing overall visibility in search results. The effects of the SEO process are not only an increase in the number of visits to the site, but also higher profits by selling products or services and greater brand recognition and awareness.
